About Modern Mobile Medicine
MODERN Mobile Medicine started as a house call medical practice for the whole family. Our service is the culmination of many years of planning to offer the most convenient primary care experience. We listened to both patients and doctors about their concerns with the broken traditional health care system, and then we set out to design the most desirable primary care service available for patients, and the best way for doctors to deliver that care.
In addition to house calls, MODERN Mobile Medicine offer office visits, telemedicine, mobile phlebotomy (lab collection), home sleep studies, mobile EKG, Holter monitoring, and in-office treatments such as PRP injections, Shockwave musculoskeletal treatments, and Deep Tissue Laser Therapy.
Our Founding Story:
Insurance-based primary care is broken beyond repair. Insurance bureaucracy has slowly destroyed America’s primary care, creating 8 minute appointments that frustrate patients and doctors alike. Having witnessed the deterioration, Dr. Matthew Haden knew since residency that billing insurance for primary care was not sustainable for patients or doctors.
Within 5 years of completing his training at the Mayo Clinic Arizona, only 1 of his residency colleagues in Family Medicine was still working in primary care. The rest had been abused out of the ranks and were instead working in clinical research, ACO management, or bariatric medicine (weight loss outside of insurance billing). These were tough, highly trained expert physicians who were no longer doing the work they trained to do, because the traditional system does not let them actually do that work. That disheartening situation was the spark for Dr. Haden to create MODERN Mobile Medicine, to give primary care doctors a chance to do what they love again and provide the high quality of care they are trained to deliver.
We go a little retro and simultaneously cutting edge by utilizing house calls and telemedicine to provide all of our medical care. Just like the old country doctors, we can provide for almost all your primary care needs in the comfort of your home or workplace. No doctor’s office needed. In addition to convenience, our primary purpose is to restore the doctor-patient relationship, through Direct Primary Care (DPC). Direct primary care means that your doctor works for you–not third-party payers like insurance companies or the government, so decisions about your care will be made by you and your doctor. DPC also give you extra time and easy access to your doctor, and you can receive care via the most appropriate means — not just the office visits that insurers will pay for. TIME with your doctor, one of the many advantages of DPC!
MODERN Mobile Medicine physicians also practice in accordance with the principles of the Hippocratic Oath. This guides us in the care we provide as we seek to “first, do no harm,” by respecting the normal physiology of the human body, restoring health based on the best science available, and protecting the privacy of our patients.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Primary care should be convenient, valuable and personal.
With the exception of sensitive exams, all primary care can be delivered via house calls, the old-fashioned way. With the modern tools of telemedicine, we can further enhance the convenient delivery of primary care for families.
Our doctors trained at some of the top medical centers in the country, so we are prepared to provide the highest quality and most scientifically sound care to you and your family. We understand that less medical intervention is often better care, and we do not rush to dispense pills or do procedures. This means we exercise prudence when prescribing. For example, we will not prescribe antibiotics for a viral infection. Instead we will help you feel better by effectively treating your symptoms, rather than rushing you out the door with a Z-Pak.
Also, we are open to coordinating care with alternative medicine practitioners and allied health care professionals to optimize your health and wellbeing. This may mean working with your acupuncturist or a physical therapist to address your back pain, or referral to a fertility awareness educator to help you better understand and manage irregular menstrual cycles.
Our goal is to optimize your health and well-being and not merely manage your symptoms!
