Housecall Blog #1!

Welcome to the first in a series of posts to provide insight to my fellow doctors who may be considering offering house calls. I will give you the lessons I have learned, tips and tricks, review equipment options, and invite other house call doctors to give their advice also. Seeing patients in their homes is very rewarding, but it can be intimidating and disorienting for those accustomed to a traditional office setting. I hope to make your transition a little easier.

I often receive calls or emails asking for advice on doing house calls, particularly in a direct primary care manner, so these posts can serve as a primer for those of you DPC docs wanting to start with house calls.

The COVID-19 pandemic has also brought a surge of interest in house calls by patients, so office-based doctors may want to start offering house calls in addition to their regular office appointments.
